Lisa was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and raised in Stoughton, Wisconsin. She attended Dana College in Blair, Nebraska, where she met her husband, Craig Swenson. Lisa was an active musician at Dana and played french horn in the band, sang in the choir, and traveled throughout the Midwest with the singing group "New Day."
Lisa worked as an Admissions Counselor for two years at Dana before going to law school, where she focused on criminal law and received the American Jurisprudence Award for Criminal Procedure.
After graduating from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1993, Lisa and her husband moved to Minnesota to be closer to family. Lisa worked for two years as a Compliance Officer for Norwest Bank before becoming an Assistant Winona County Attorney, where she handled criminal cases ranging from misdemeanor to serious felony criminal cases. Lisa also served as an Adjunct professor in Winona State’s paralegal and law enforcement programs.
Lisa moved to Rochester, Minnesota in 2003, where she was employed by the Olmsted County Attorney’s Office as a Senior Assistant County Attorney for five years before joining the law firm of George F. Restovich & Associates in 2008. After 14 years in the criminal justice system, Lisa has tried over thirty jury trials and has been involved in hundreds of contested cases, giving her extensive litigation experience.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, bicycling, and camping. She is involved with the Churchill/Hoover PTA, church choir, and Pack 84 Boy Scout troop.
