Thomas was born and raised in Princeton, Minnesota. After graduating from Princeton High School, Thomas enrolled at the University of Minnesota in Duluth, Minnesota. Thomas received a double major, earning high academic honors in Political Science and Criminology.
Shortly after graduating from UMD, Thomas enrolled at the University of Minnesota Law School. While attending the University of Minnesota Law School, Thomas served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Pamela Alexander of the Fourth Judicial District. Thomas also worked as a prosecutor for the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office where he tried misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor and felony cases. Thomas graduated from the law school with honors.
Immediately after taking the Minnesota State Bar Examination he moved to Rochester, Minnesota to begin his legal career with George F. Restovich and Associates. Thomas initially focused his practice on representing individuals charged with criminal offenses. While Thomas continues to represent individuals charged in state and federal courts, he has also expanded his practice to serve clients in the areas of family law, business litigation, real estate transactions and civil practice.
Thomas’ litigation experience is extensive, from handling homicide and criminal sexual conduct cases to litigating complex construction claims.
