Walking is a physical activity that can improve overall health. For some people, taking a walk is a normal daily activity. It certainly isn’t an activity that most people would consider life-threatening. For one woman in St. Paul, her daily walk with her husband was her final action on Earth.

The fatal accident happened when the couple was walking in the W. 7th Street neighborhood at around 6:45 in the morning. The woman’s husband had just gone across St. Clair when the woman was struck by a car driven by a 29-year-old woman. The man saw his 63-year-old wife lying on the street. She was pronounced dead in the crosswalk.

It isn’t believed that drugs or alcohol contributed the accident. The driver contends that she had the right of way; however, no official determination has been made. It is unclear if the deceased woman was crossing the street in the crosswalk or if that is just where she landed when she was struck by the car. One witness to the accident said that the woman might have fallen or tripped before she was struck.

There are a lot of unanswered questions in this case. The important point now is that this husband is left to grieve his wife’s death. He is left to make her final arrangements.

Nobody should have to lose a loved one in a fatal accident. If you lost a loved one in an accident that was caused by a driver’s negligent or reckless actions, you might decide to seek compensation for your loved one’s untimely death.
